2009

2009 Ride Was A Success
145 miles, 156 motorcycles, over 200 participants, organized traffic control through the Hood River area, a great route, fantastic food at the end... all spells out a great day, even if the band pulled a "no show" on us.
I didn't ride this year, but everyone that came in to final stop at Latus said they had a great run and I got the sense that everyone enjoyed the day.
After all was said and done, we netted $41,000.00 for Doernbecher Children's Hospital this year, which makes our four year accumulative total $134,000.00! The Credit Union Charity Ride has exceeded everyone's expectations and there are no words to express how appreciative we are to everyone that gets involved... sponsors, volunteers, and of course the riders.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next year, and the "theme" for next year will be "Tell a Friend, Bring a Friend"

2008

In 2008 we started in Longview Washington, rode across the bridge into Oregon, out to Astoria, back across into Washington, and ended where we started the the new Fibre Federal Credit Union Headquarters in Longview.
It was a wet August day and our attendance was not what we had hoped for.  Weather aside, we did have 184 registrations that braved the elements.
For the most part, the ride itself was dry, but there was a nice little micro cell that came through during while everyone was enjoying their food and the music... some of us got pretty wet!
Regardless of turnout, it was a good day and we raised over $43,000.00 for Doernbecher.
After three years of doing this ride, we have raised right around $92,000.00!

The route itself was about 138 miles and took the participants through some of the best scenery the Pacific Northwest has to offer

2007

For 2007, we started in Woodland Washington and rode out 503 through Cougar, past Eagles Cliff Resort, into Carson, back into the Vancouver area, and ending up at Love Leathers in Ridgefield Washington.
The morning started out a little misty, but it cleared up and was a perfect riding day... not too hot, not too cold.

The route was great and everyone had a good time.  If we were to ask for anything, it would be that our lovely forest service roads were in a little better shape.
with 215 registrations, we managed to fill the Love Leathers parking lot pretty well.  The music was good, the food was a let down - oh well, live and learn
We raised $33,000.00 for Doernbecher this year, over double our first year.

2006

2006 was our first year, and it was a year of learning for sure.  While most of us on the planning committee are riders, this was the first time any of us had organized such an event

Experience aside, it was a good day and a good ride.  We started in Longview Washington, went out 503, through Amboy, into Vancouver, and ended at Love Leathers in Ridgefield.
Each stop was at either a Fibre or iQ location.  Being that our branches are placed in urban areas, this took riders through some heavily congested areas.  We realized after this year, we would need to forgo the branches as stops and just focus on the ride route itself.

For our first year, we were very pleased with having raised $16,000.00 for Doernbecher.  Little did we know the upcoming years would prove to be so much more successful.
